Pocket Luach Privacy Policy for Apple Platforms
Effective August 20, 2026
Pocket Luach (the Regular edition) does not track you, sell personal information, use advertising identifiers, or show advertising. Data described below is used only to provide app functionality and customer support.
Calendar, location, and personal features
- Location: If you allow location access, Pocket Luach uses it to calculate local Jewish times and related calendar information. You can choose a saved location instead. The developer does not collect your precise location as part of ordinary calendar use.
- Calendars, reminders, contacts, and names: The app accesses these only when you choose a feature that imports, creates, or synchronizes an entry. It does not upload your address book for advertising or tracking.
- Personal events: Names, dates, notes, and event details are stored for the features you request. They remain in the app or Apple service storage unless you deliberately export or share them, write them through an Apple service, or include them in a support message or attachment.
- Photos and videos: Media is accessed only when you choose a feature that uses it, save an exported image, select a HelpKit avatar photo, or attach media to a support request. Choosing a generated HelpKit avatar does not require a personal photo.
HelpKit Contact Support
Pocket Luach includes an optional HelpKit support feature. A display name and avatar are required before you start a new support conversation. You may choose an app-generated avatar or select your own photo. Nothing is shared with support staff until you deliberately send a support message.
When you send a support message, HelpKit may process:
- your required display name and avatar;
- your support messages and other content you choose to send;
- optional photos, screenshots, videos, or files you choose to attach;
- persistent opaque user, support, and device identifiers used to keep the conversation connected;
- the app version and build, device model and name, operating-system version, and a support screen/context label; and
- limited product-interaction and diagnostic context, such as the selected support category, conversation status, and timestamps, needed to route and investigate the request.
This information is linked to your support conversation and is used only for app functionality and customer support. It is not used for tracking, advertising, or profiling.
How HelpKit stores and transmits support
HelpKit keeps a private conversation-history copy in your private Apple CloudKit database when available, with a local on-device fallback. When you press Send, HelpKit also creates a shared support copy in a CloudKit public database so authorized support staff can receive and answer it.
The message, profile, diagnostic context, and attachment contents in that shared copy are encrypted to the designated support key before CloudKit storage. Limited routing fields—the conversation identifier, app identifier and name, screen context, status, and timestamps—remain readable so the support workflow can route and update the ticket. Use of a CloudKit public database does not make the encrypted message or attachment contents publicly readable.
Automated support assistance
Support requests may be classified, translated, drafted, and answered with automated tools operated by the developer. For Pocket Luach Regular, this processing is restricted to deterministic rules and local tools running on developer-controlled hardware; the support request is not sent to a hosted third-party artificial-intelligence provider for drafting.
Pre-existing local-only support notes
Support notes created by earlier Pocket Luach versions in local-only mode are retained in the app's local storage. Pocket Luach does not automatically migrate or send those pre-existing notes to CloudKit or to support staff. Only content you deliberately send through the current Contact Support flow is shared with support.
Retention and deletion
The developer retains shared support content only as needed to answer the request, maintain the support history, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of a support conversation through Contact Support in the app or by emailing haim@tebeka.com. Deleting the app removes local app data, but does not by itself guarantee deletion of private iCloud history or a support copy already sent; contact the developer for that request.
Offline prayer and calendar content
Calendar information, Siddur, Tehillim, and related texts included with Pocket Luach are available for local use. Opening or searching this material does not tell the developer which text you read.
Apple services
Apple may process information under Apple's own privacy policy when you use the App Store, iCloud, CloudKit, Calendars, Reminders, Contacts, Photos, Location, notifications, Siri, or other operating-system services. You can withdraw Calendars, Camera, Contacts, Location, Photos, or Reminders permission at any time in Apple device Settings. Information stored in iCloud is also controlled through your Apple account and compatible app settings.
Children
Pocket Luach is a general-audience calendar and prayer utility and is not directed to children. If a parent or guardian submits a support request for a child, HelpKit processes the support data described above. A child should use Contact Support only with a parent or guardian.
Changes and contact
We will update the effective date when this policy changes. For privacy questions or deletion requests, use Contact Support inside Pocket Luach, visit Pocket Luach Support, or email haim@tebeka.com.
